Please go to your Amazon marketing service campaign overview page, which should look similar to the example below. You may have more or fewer campaigns listed than the example shown below.
To get accurate daily data, it is recommended uploading your campaign data every day around the same time – most likely in the morning or in the evening. Uploading your campaign file once in a while works too – missing days will automatically be calculated and added.
No campaign data is lost when you upload only once in a while. The last upload always contains all of your ad campaign data. See explanation below.
Book Ad Report will start working and shows you relevant stats after the second upload. It needs a minimum of two campaign sets to calculate your data. Amazons’ campaign file does not contain a date stamp – only accumulated data. Therefore, you can only upload one campaign file per day. During the upload, this campaign data will be date stamped.
The longer you use it, the more relevant data you see, and the more useful stats you have to work with.
Based on your account type you can upload a file with up to 200 campaigns. The Starter account allows up to 5 campaign, the Standard account up to 20, and the Pro account up to 200. The program only counts running campaign, but also imports all paused campaigns.
In the example below, you only see running campaigns listed. You can do this by adding the first few characters for the status of the campaign e.g. “run” next to the button “New campaign”.
At the top to your right, above your campaigns and before ‘Results per page’ you will see a button with a download icon.
Click the button and you will see a pop-up window. Save the campaign.csv file to your desktop, download folder or any other folder. Go back to your Book Ad Report dashboard, select the Upload menu and choose the option ‘Campaign File’. Then click on ‘Select Campaign File’.
It is recommended, but not necessary to upload your campaign file daily to get the most benefits from this program. Daily uploading your campaign stats gives you exact information on your ad performance every single day.
If you skip a day or a few days no data is lost. The program will use the data from your last uploaded campaign file to automatically calculate the data between the missing days.
Let’s assume you upload data on the 5th and the impression count for a particular campaign is 10,000. Then you upload again on the 10th and the impression count of that campaign is now 20,000 then the program will calculate the dates from the 6th to the 10th with an impression count of 2,000 for each day. The same calculation will be done for all other metrics of this and all other campaigns in the campaign file.
A pop-up window appears, where you now select the ‘campaign.csv’ file that you have downloaded previously from your amazon marketing service. After clicking on ‘open’ your campaign file will be imported.
You will see the progress on the import, and after the import is finished the program will redirect you to the Statistic – Last Imported section. Here you can see the complete data from your imported campaign in a table.
Note: The program will need at least 2 sets (days) of campaign data until you see your first charts on the dashboard.
We recommend that you delete this campaign file after you have uploaded it to your Book Ad Report account. This way it’s impossible to upload any campaign files from previous days. If you choose to save your campaign files please edit the file name and add the current date.
Once you uploaded your campaign for today’s day you won’t be able to upload another campaign file. That’s a built-in security feature to prevent you from overwriting already existing data.
The campaign file itself does not contain any date information!
Currently, it’s not possible to upload historical campaign data. However, we are already working on this, and we will inform you when this feature is available.
